Week 3 August 26 - 30

Hello parents,

The 7th graders seem to be adjusting to the routine very well. Enjoy the few pictures I snapped and had the kids answer my prompts - so I included some quotes for you to enjoy!
"My Spanish name is Juan. I picked it out myself, but I wish it was Jose."
Taking their first science test. Comments: "That was hard." and "Some were just common sense answers."

What did you learn this week? "We learned that fraction thingy - ya know - changing fractions to decimals!"

Favorite thing from this week: "PE. We played volleyball. It's okay."

Worst thing about school: "Pictures." Best thing about school: "Seeing my friends."

Thank you to the room mom's who joined forces together, Mrs. Purnell, Mrs. Stanglein, and Mrs. Rudloff. There may be some times that they need assistance- but I am sure all will be wonderful. Many thanks!

Many tests happened this week, be sure to ask you child how they did. I know there was a history and science test and a history presentation that happened this week. Friday papers will come home, but you can always check edline for updated grades every Monday. If you do not have your login for that please contact the office.

Church schedule: Worship services are back to regular times. Saturday: 5:00, Sunday 8, 9:30, and 11. Try to make worship a priority in your life and your child will follow suit.

Blessings on your long weekend. Enjoy!

Week 2 August 19 - 22

Our first full week!

Thank you for coming to Back to School night. Again, it is a pleasure to have your children and it is wonderful to meet and talk with you.

This week we started to work on the routine. There is a little stumbling along the way, but they are getting there.

Check out their first day of school picture and the first class picture of the year. It will shock you how much they change by May.

Week 1 August 14-16

A Future with a Hope!

The first week has been a whirlwind. Things are underway and hopefully the kids are getting comfortable with their new schedule.

I am so very happy to have many of these seventh graders again this year. I look forward to spending time with them.

This blog is a place where I primarily post pictures and some information about the week. In most cases, I will not be listing any homework or upcoming assignments. On occasion, when something big is coming up I will put it on the blog - field trips, research papers etc...

My intention is to send you an email on Friday's with the link to this blog so that you can easily check it out.

We will have an assignment board in the classroom for the first three quarters of the year. The fourth quarter we will no longer post the assignments. This is the routine for the eighth graders (no assignment board) and we want to prepare them for what will happen next year. (Yes, we are already talking about eighth grade and this year just began!)

Please come to me with any questions, issues, or with good news. I love to hear good news too! I want to be able to work together with you and your child to solve problems and celebrate accomplishments.

I am looking forward to a great seventh grade year!
