The kids had to set the cookie on their forehead and try and get the cookie in their mouth without touching it. Hilarious!

Week 18 Dec 14-18 Photos 1 of 4

Hello parents,

I have so many pictures to share from the party I will put them in separate blog posts in order for you to easily view them.

I pray you are having a wonderful break with your families and the kids are getting the break they need from homework and getting up early in the morning!

A huge thank you to our room parents and their helpers with our last day of school Christmas party. It was fantastic. Great games, food, and fun for all. I laughed and laughed at the games the kids played. Again, what a fun group of kids who played together and were more than willing to jump around to get ping pong balls to fall out of a tissue box!

See you in a week. Happy New Year. Have fun and stay safe.

Blessings.
Mrs. Murray

Week 16 Nov 30 - Dec 4

Hello parents,

We had a very busy week! We are so very proud of the 6th grade Advent performance, and we hope you truly enjoyed it. The Thoelkes were very impressed with the musical talent, choir voices, and lyrics memorization. We thank them for the hard work and preparation they did to help our students.

On Friday, we made our welcome kids for Christian Friends of New Americans organization. It took a little over an hour to prepare 180 bags and write welcome notes to folks from around the world that come to St. Louis to start a new life. A Christian message of welcome, love, patriotism, and friendship. The kids say it better than anyone else. They did a wonderful job.

We have two weeks left of school before the quarter is over. Memory is back to the regular schedule of a Bible verse Mon - Thursday. (Grace day on Friday.) There will probably be one or two more spelling tests, and several more content area tests. Keep the kids motivated as best you can at home and we will do our best here. The last week before any break is typically tough and we want the kids to keep moving forward.

AR: Due this Friday, December 11th. Friday will be the last day to take tests.

A little something I wanted to share with you...

Both classes of 6th graders....they are so fun! This class gets along so incredibly well. They play outside games together, laugh together, and deal with all their differences respectfully. All the kids have such a variety of interests - if it is STUCO, sports, dance, music...they seem to embrace their differences and accept one another. Pass that along to them from me. Something is going right with this group and I hope it continues as they turn into teenagers. They are bonded, like no class I have experienced. It's cool.

Keep teaching them to include each other, to be kind to one another, that boys and girls can play bobcat pit or soccer together (or some other invented game!),  that music matters, and everyone has different talents and abilities.

That's my two cents.

Enjoy the photos below. Have a great week.

Blessings,
Mrs. Murray

My phone died right after I took only a few photos. Not everyone is included. So sorry about that!

The Christmas card pose. (Honestly, they could hardly contain themselves; they were so amped up. This picture is a mini-miracle.
And...how they really felt while we were waiting to perform.
