It is hard to believe that we have arrived at the weekend before Thanksgiving. Did you get all your groceries shopped for or your travel plans arranged? The busy season is upon us and our kids will feel the pressure too.
Church this weekend was the "church year" service. Normally, it is not my favorite service but this weekend it spoke to me. I enjoyed listening to the different readings from all the different parts of the church year. It made me less stressed about the next 5 weeks or so to come - time just keeps moving forward whether you are ready for it or not - and we make it through. Of course, never on our own but by the grace of God!
Fantastic food drive items came in this week for chapel. Thank you. The seminarians will be blessed this week with an entire Turkey dinner. The food book received so many items from us (and other churches as well) that our students went back to work after lunch to stock the shelves. Great service project!
Christmas Service Project: We will have our Christmas items drive for USO the week after Thanksgiving. We will send home a flyer on Tuesday or Wednesday with the items we would like to collect to make goodie bags for our soldiers visiting the USO at Lambert.
We will also use the money collect from the walkathon to buy items not collected and to supply their lounge with food at the airport.
